National Citizen Service

The NCS runs in the spring, summer and autumn. Young people will have a short time away from home and take part in a team project that will help your community.

NCS brings together young people from different backgrounds throughout England and helps them develop greater confidence, self-awareness and responsibility. It encourages personal and social development by working on skills like leadership, teamwork and communication.

Participants develop a social action project to deal with a local issue they’re passionate about, and spend 30 hours putting the project into action in their community.

How can I get involved?

If you’re 16 or 17, you can take part in NCS.

Visit the NCSyes site and sign up to receive more information and details of how to get involved.

To date 5 Co-op Homes' young people from Reading to Isleworth have signed up and been accepted for this great (free) opportunity.  To find out more visit the NCS website at the  link  above.

If you or your family are concerned about any aspect of this please contact your Community Housing Advisor on 0203 166 2608 for more assistance.
