Gas servicing and COVID-19


Please be aware that we have a legal duty, even during this lock-down period to carry out an annual gas servicing check and provide you with a safety certificate so please grant our gas contractor access to carry this out when you are contacted.  By delaying or declining to make an appointment you are potentially risking the health and safety of you and members of your household. 

We understand that you may be reluctant to admit people into your home due to the current restrictions and COVID-19, but the annual gas check is deemed by the Government to be an essential job that should still be completed.  We would like to reassure you that our contractors will be wearing full Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and will maintain social distancing by asking residents to leave the room(s) where the appliance(s) to be checked are situated while the service is in progress.

If you have symptoms of COViD-19 and are self-isolating or have received a shielding  letter from the NHS please email customer.services@coophomes.coop or call 020 3166 2608 where an arrangement can be made to postpone the service until the shielding or isolation period is due to end.

So, if your annual gas servicing check is due now or in the near future we would be grateful if you could please treat this matter with the utmost importance and contact Co-op Homes or the contractor at your earliest convenience to make an appointment when requested or let us know why this isn’t possible, as soon as you can.
